Jan Petric graduated in the Graphic Design Department at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 2006 with the thesis entitled The Corporate Identity of Notranjska regional park. In 2009 he finished postgraduate diploma of Brand Strategy and in 2010 another postgraduate diploma of Design of a Corporate Identity. Both were part of a Master degree of Corporate Identity at design school Elisava escola superior de disseny in Barcelona, Spain. Before and after graduating he worked in different design studios and he also worked as a freelance designer for several companies. In 2012 he established his own design studio.
